Keep youself free on the 27th of February, because at the iced amphitheater of Castello di Pontechianale, Cuneo Italy there will be an event that you can’t miss if you love mountains and climbing.
Since the big Val Varaita Meeting 1988 whit Gian Carlo Grassi, Tomo Cesen, Walter Cecchinel, Ines Bozic, Joan Quintana, Thierry Renault, François Damilano and many more.. The annual Ice Climbing Fest is coming..

Everyone can join the party and maybe climb a little with all the security, that you might need and if you don’t want, to sweat you can always look at the climbers while drinking hot smoking glasses of Vin Broulé (hot vine).
The party is planned to start at about 10 in the morning and will go on untill everybody’s too tired to go on climbing and partying, after the sunset powerful lights will be on to transform the Anfiteatro in a magical place, there will also be a bonfire to keep the partecipants warm.
Thanks to many sponsors, local and not, a lottery will be held with a lot of prizes, from tipical alpine products to many climbing stuff.

Special guests will also be at the event, like the alpine guide Ezio Marlier that will share his knowleadge about ice with everyone that’s interested; everything will be done in total safety thanks to the help of the Soccorso Alpino (Alpine Rescue).

Ice will not be the only theme of the party, snow will have an important part too, the Segnavia of Brossasco is going to organize a Snowshoeing Trek by night, thanks to the full moon with a dinner at the end that will take place at the refuge Savigliano. Once back rejoined to the rest of the crew at the Anfiteatro you can enjoy yourselves and maybe win something in the lottery.

For all the mountain lovers there will also be the chance to hear the stories of some of the greatest climbers and guides at the Segnavia in Brossasco – Cuneo, one of them is Fulvio Scotto who will show his own movie about the history of alpinism along with wonderful pictures that he took on the hardest alpine ways he climbed.

On the 26th of february, Elisabetta Caserini will show her movies about climbing in Algeria and her world of mountains.

Sabato 27 febbraio 2010 non prendete altri impegni, all’anfiteatro di Castello di Pontechianale si svolgerà la Festa del Ghiaccio e come al solito sarà un’occasione di divertimento per gli amanti della piolet traction, ma anche per tutti i curiosi che sceglieranno di osservare le scalate in tranquillità e sicurezza, sorseggiando un bicchiere fumante di vin broulè.

Dal grande MEETING della Valle Varaita nel 1988 organizzato da Gian Carlo Grassi che ha visto partecipare Tomo Cesen, Walter Cecchinel, Ines Bozic, Joan Quintana, Thierry Renault, François Damilano e molti atri fortissimi scalatori..

Arriva l’annuale FESTA DEL GHIACCIO edizione 2010!!!

La festa incomincerà dalle ore 10 e proseguirà ininterrottamente fino a tarda notte, il vero spettacolo inizierà dal tramonto in poi, quando si accenderanno i potenti impianti di illuminazione e l’anfiteatro si trasformerà in luogo magico;inoltre si farà anche un suggestivo falò per creare un ambiente più confortevole per tutti i partecipanti.
Grazie al contributo di numerosi sponsor locali ed esterni, si terrà una lotteria con in palio prodotti tipici della val Varaita e materiale tecnico delle più note marche.

La festa può vantare come ospite speciale la guida aplina Ezio Marlier, che metterà a disposizone dei partecipanti la sua grande esperienza nell’arrampicata su ghiaccio;inoltre grazie al prezioso contributo del Soccorso Alpino,personale qualificato sarà presente per tutta la durata dell’evento a garantirne uno svolgimento in sicurezza .

Il ghiaccio non sarà il solo protagonista della festa, anche la neve avrà grande importanza poiché il Segnavia di Brossasco organizzerà una ciaspolata in notturna resa ancor più suggestiva dalla luna piena con cena finale al rifugio Savigliano e poi ritrovo all’anfiteatro di Castello per fare festa tutti insieme e partecipare alla ricca lotteria.

Per tutti gli amanti della montagna sono in programma delle serate con grandi nomi dell’alpinismo, come Fulvio Scotto che al Segnavia di Brossasco mostrerà il suo film sulla storia dell’alpinismo nelle Alpi italiane con favolose foto da lui scattate sulle più belle ed impegnative vie.
Venerdì 26 febbraio al Segnavia di brossasco, Elisabetta Caserini presenterà alcuni film sulla sua avventura tra le sabbie algerine ed il suo mondo dell’arrampicata.
